Knowledge Base & FAQ
Discover everything you need to know about our offline processing capabilities.
1. Is there a maximal file size or volume restriction?
Since OmniConvert purely utilizes your local machine's memory (RAM) allocation, there are theoretically [Zero Artificial Limits]. You can drag and drop 1,000 HD images simultaneously. As long as your hardware can sustain the memory load, we won't stop you. However, to maintain optimal browser stability, we suggest keeping massive payload batches under 1GB per run.
2. Are you absolutely certain my files aren't uploaded somewhere?
Yes, we guarantee it on our developers honors. This is a pure '100% Client-Side' frontend architecture. Test it yourself: simply load this website, completely disconnect from your Wi-Fi, and proceed to convert documents or videos as normal. You will realize everything executes blazingly fast without standard network connectivity!
3. Why is video processing slower compared to my native desktop software?
This is the current singular tradeoff of revolutionary WASM technology. Since the browser runs strictly within an isolated sandbox layer, it is restricted from directly triggering massive hardware acceleration components like an Nvidia GPU. All converting is done dynamically via CPU software rendering. Consequently, massive 4K raw videos will take visibly longer. For standard clips, audio tracks, and images, the speeds remain phenomenally smooth.
4. What is the value of the JSON / XML Beautify tools?
For software engineers and data analysts, receiving chaotic API payloads totaling millions of strings is a daily struggle. Leveraging our 'Format/Beautify' processor instantly injects proper spacing and indentation for human legibility. Conversely, applying 'Minify' strips all arbitrary whitespaces when pushing a project to productionâsubstantially decreasing file bloat and server bandwidth costs.
5. Will you be adding Word (DOCX) or PPT conversions to PDF?
This remains the ultimate frontier challenge. Unfortunately, the rendering engines of Microsoft Office are proprietary and closed-source. There is currently no pure Client-Side JavaScript solution that can flawlessly convert tables, layout symbols, and pagination perfectly without a server backend. Given our promise to NEVER upload your secure files, deploying a remote rendering server would be a treacherous vulnerability. We strongly suggest utilizing your local Microsoft Office 'Save As PDF' functionality for strictly confidential documents.
6. Why does my exported image size sometimes shrink radically?
We deploy a sophisticated memory canvas-redraw technique alongside a privacy filter. Whenever you convert images through our matrix, it effectively redraws every pixel. This magical extraction process automatically annihilates any embedded, highly confidential EXIF traces (such as GPS geolocational coordinates or specific Smartphone Models used during capture). You leave absolutely zero digital footprints behind.
